Coaching Women and Girls' Rugby
Coaching is one of the most crucial factors in developing, sustaining and increasing participation in rugby union, securing the future and quality of the English game. To be an effective coach, you will need to fulfil a number of different roles, covering the technical, tactical, physical and mental aspects demanded by our game. We have guidance specific to coaching girls' rugby as well as information on women's health to support coaches.

Funding and Opportunities
Between 2022 and 2026, the RFU will deliver a transformational Rugby World Cup 2025 Impact programme in partnership with HM Treasury, DCMS (Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport), Sport England and UK Sport. As part of that programme a range of support is being offered to clubs across Facility Development, Coaches & Match Officials and Playing and Volunteering.

Women coach & match official funding | We want to increase the number of women coaching and refereeing rugby. Applicants can receive exclusive early access to England Rugby Refereeing Award and Coaching Award Courses and the chance to receive a voucher coving the cost of the course. |
